“They look like Scholes signings” – Oldham Athletic fans react to the signings of Manchester United youngster and West Ham United youngster

Oldham Athletic have completed a double deadline signing with the loan signings of Manchester United youngster Zak Dearnley and West Ham United youngster Oladapo Afolayan until the end of the season, according to the club website.

Oldham Athletic have completed a double deadline signing with the loan signings of Manchester United youngster Zak Dearnley and West Ham United youngster Oladapo Afolayan until the end of the season.

Zak Dearnley has been playing in the U23 squad for Manchester United since the second half of last season. Zak Dearnley signed a new deal with Manchester United last July after making 19 appearances scoring once, which was in a 4-0 win over Sunderland at Old Trafford.

Likewise, Oladapo Afolayan signs on loan for Latics from Premiership side West Ham United after playing in their U23 side.

But, last season he was playing in the Vanarama National League with Solihull Moors he scored eleven goals before West Ham United signed him.

There is some speculation that these signings have been made by Paul Scholes. According to The Sun, his is set to become new manager of Oldham Athletic and it will be decided by the FA next week.

The former Manchester United legend has been told by Oldham Athletic owner Abdallah Lemsagam that the job is his and looks set to complete the move soon.

Caretaker manager Pete Wild will remain in his caretaker role for Saturday’s home meeting with Morecambe.
